When I got there I was jumped by the first sales turd. Kind of expected that but the guy wouldn't get off my nuts the entire time I was there. I walk in and he asks what I was looking for, nothing says I...just looking. Then as I walked around and would look at a bike he would yell out the name of it and some other useless info. "That's a R1, 2008", "FJR, 1300CC's", etc.... Then he finally asked me if I was just in there to look or kick some tires or day dream. I told him I was still just looking and he continued to follow me. Finally got sick of it and left.

Also, what is with the R1 and R6's have that wierd flat painted fairing near the engine when all the rest of the fairings on the bike are gloss? The black one sorta pulled it off but the red one they had looked like it had been wrecked and a new one spray painted.

Sorry no free hot dogs.

Did I tell you I went in there asking about getting a tire changed on my BMW? Already had the tire and the rim off the bike. Went up to the service counter just to ask what they would charge. They had a big sign on the wall that said "Tire Change - $85.00" That's is more then triple what the average price I was finding and almost four times as much as I ended up paying.

They can keep their free hot dogs.

Can you change a tubless tire and balance it?

Yes and if you went to harbor freight you could too ;)

So I can spend $100 to change a tire plus my time doing it then having to get rid of the old tire and still not be balanced.
Or I can spend $22.50, drop it off at a shop, look at a few bikes for 20 min's, then leave with new tire on rim balanced and all.

That makes perfect sense!!!

Guess you don't ride that much,. I used to go through two sets a month. You would spend 60 bucks one time and then the rest would be wheel weights. A whole 1/4 ounce per tire.

This must be Jen because your aurora college math sucks. Personally I like working on my own bikes instead of letting some slack jawed mmi graduate work on it. But hey thats just me. You work on your jeep but not your bike. Too funny.

Balancing a motorcycle tire is so easy even a caveman can do it. :jump:

You do realize the link you provided is only half of what you need, right? That is just an attachment to the tire changer that is sold for $40 somewhere else on the site.

You can use a set of tire iron to change the tire its a motorcycle not a car :jump:

Change one on the side of the road, with a tire iron, and a 2X4.

Balancing is for pussies. most, if not all MC tires balance right out if you line up the stem indicator.

That is how I change my tubed tires. I'd have to get a different set that are much bigger to change a tube less tire.

Just trying to help. I used to change the tires in the parking lot at firebird with three tire irons and balance with two milk crates and a spare axle shaft. It is amazing what you can learn from the guys who race for a living and have no money for their own mechanics ;)

I've put more miles on my bikes in a year than you have in your entire life.

Last bike I put 21,000 on it in 8 months. AND did all my repairs MYSELF, except for the Rockerbox replacement.

Thanks, the problem is it just wasn't worth my time. $22.50 spent vs fighting with a tire for an hour was a easy choice.

Believe what you want. Drive one as your only transportation for 5 years.

*I* never had a problem fixing my own bike, or changing tires.

WTF will you do when you blow a tire in the ass of nowhere?

Too bad you spent an hour driving around, looking at bikes, getting hassled by salesshleps, then driving to another shop, waiting ANOTHER hour.......

To bad you assume to much. I only stopped at the Hardley place because it was on the way to the place I was going to get my tire changed. My getting harassed by some lot jockey is a different story then me getting my tire changed that only took 20 min's. I actually stayed at that dealership longer talking about bikes with the mechanics. Usually the people who really know what is good and what is crap.

Try to keep up.

I do drive my bike as my primary transportation for the last two years.

I've never had a problem getting a tire changed either.

I have a patch kit and mini air compressor on my bike if I blow one in the middle of no where. Also have road side assistance.

Any other assumptions? :jump::jump::jump:

Well, seeing as you must Dismount the tire to put on a patch..WTF not just change your own tires?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL @ Triple A "roadside Assistance"

[slackjaw truck driver] We'll just hook the cable to your handlebars and pull it up the back of the truck. Then we'll put the tires on the stinger, and you'll be all set[/]

Do you even know the difference between a tubed tire and tubless one? A tubless one is just like a car tire, you plug it.

LOL!!!

Yea, plug that tire. Then LOL when the plug flies out due to Flex.

Explain why a plugged tire will not pass Inspection then?

PROPER way to patch a tire is a PATCH inside the tire. Regardless WHAT type it is. Plugs=Death on a motorcycle.

I'm curious how storyturd got 21,000 miles on a scooter in 8 month in buffalo while diving in dumpsters?? How do you haul the scrap around town and still put 2685 miles a month on a moped?

There's a "Mega Mall" sort of place near here, sounds similar. I don't like to go there. It's always full of kids, the sales turds are high-pressure, and they treat you like a criminal when you check out and try to use a credit card (I've purchased some clothing there). I'm very happy with both Triumph dealerships that I've dealt with. The owner of the shop I bought from took me out to breakfast while I had the bike in to have an alarm installed.

The Triumph dealership we have here is pretty good. Only bad thing is they are pretty small and don't get a lot of bikes in.

The dealer I bought from is a tiny place that's about 40 years old, but they seem to do a pretty good book of business for their size. They have a good web presence and the owners are very enthusiastic about their bikes. They have at least a couple of every Triumph model in stock and a decent selection of used bikes. I think they had three different versions of the model I bought in stock, and were willing to search and have one brought in if I wanted a different color (which wasn't necessary).

The dealer closest to me is also a Ducati and Victory dealer. Larger showroom and inventory, but I don't think his deals are as good. He didn't get my purchase because he wasn't responsive to my e-mail inquiry about his inventory.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH sure thing there Crash.

Little hint. The rubber stays on the GROUND.

And it takes a special kind of stupid to break a bone in a lowside crash....Or you are just a fragile, brittle, WEAK person.

Seeing as I smacked a car at 35, flew 50 yards, tumbled 5X and GOT TO MY FEET, you should stay off the bike Old Man.

OH, and enjoy that Dog-tracking TOTALED motorcycle you are still making payments on:jump::jump:
