I tend to prefer simpler foods while my parents make meals that have a lot more ingrediants with foods I tend not to eat unless they make it.
If I had more time, I might be compelled to make more involved dishes.

My cooking is totally lacking imagination or innovation and is generally repetitive. Food is fuel to me, nothing more.

I can afford better cuts of meat but Mom's cooking was still tops :hoos:
cooking for me (1) is a lot different than cooking for a family, or even your SO
I like to cook, but when it's just me, why go all out. Unless I want a lot of leftovers that I can take during the week

My mom made great family food, nothing crazy or gourmet about it but it was always delicious and hit the spot.
Now :wifey: JR and I love to make/try all sorts of different things and they don't always turn out great but we try.

My mom had to feed 4 boys, herself and my dad. Food was plentiful and simple. I have to feed myself and :wifey: , we eat very well. Sometimes simple, sometimes complex...tonight's dinner took almost 2 hours to make.
