The other thing I'm thinking about is a gas powered pump. The sewers here are joined, so when they fill up, and they always fill up, we get some nasty shit flooding the street on two sides of the house. I'm concerned that it is contributing to keeping my yard saturated, causing my sumps to work harder, etc, and want to avoid having any more water in the basement. Again, I'm leaning towards a portable, gas powered unit. I'll probably palletize it with a hose reel so I can slid it into (and out of) my utility trailer as needed, haul it where I need it, and blast the water down towards the other end of the block where the transfer pumps can get it out of the neighborhood.

Anyone have any experience with which brands to look for, which to avoid, etc?
