So in my company's infinite (or finite depending how you look at it) doesn't have a blackberry server and we are stuck with POS Motorola Q's. The Q is a hunk of crap. My verizon 2 year contract ends soon and I thinking of ditching the Q and getting a blackberry instead. How would I go about getting my work email through one since we don't have a BES server? Isn't there a client I need to install on a PC that runs 24x7 (no biggie to do) that forwards the emails to me?

Yes, software on the PC and about a 20 minute delay on mail, you need to plug in the crackberry via USB to synch outlook/contacts.

That is how we did it before out BES server.

If you have access to your mail via POP, you can configure the Blackberry web client to deliver mail to your phone.
