I am looking for some new tires for the BSA, right know it has the old school knobby ones (not so good on the road). I want a good on road tire that I can go off road with if i so choose to.

4.00x18 rear forget the front, but will check it out later.

Any recommendations for tire and should I buy it online or just go into local bike shop and get it there.

They look pretty awesome, at least.

I have. They suck. On and off road.

Cheng Shin makes a nice Period correct replacement front that is somewhat knobbed and Metzler makes a almost matching rear.

No, use the Period correct "Oldschool" Metzler.

Those above SUCK int he rain on street. VERY greasy. This is something that my local shop had..no clue if it's current production or not. Looked like the tires on Steve Mcqueen's BMW in The Great Escape.
