Windows Update restarts are out of control

I need to move every single one of my workloads from Windows to Linux. It's absolutely ridiculous that I applied updates and rebooted last night, started a long running process, and woke up to my computer having done additional updates and rebooted overnight without warning.

Completely stupid.

I had a series of updates yesterday, took less than an hour... I wasn't counting but it was definitely less than an hour.

Mine DLs in the background but I can definitely tell because the computer is screaming. Then it's fast upon shutdown. The last one shitcanned all of my MS Teams chats but after signing out and back in to Teams, they reappeared. And yes I tried restarting my machine. And no, I'm not surfing porn. Those were answers to the very first two questions asked by KBR IT.

Win 10 machine at my workstation was being funny so I rebooted. Went into update, upon restart it said it couldn't finish the update and sat like that for about an hour before coming back up. Weird. It was a Sunday, wasn't going to get any local IT support and I wasn't calling Parminder or Venkatesh.

Trying the regedit fix. Damn thing rebooted twice yesterday. Once in the middle of the day and once at like 10:30pm. I have working hours set and it apparently ignores them.
