Thinking of upgrading cell phone, currently using Galaxy S3 on Virgin Mobile.

Ended up ordering the American S7 from Virgin, staying with them, was able to upgrade to unlimited talk/text with 5GB high speed data (and unlimited slow data) + unlimited music streaming (not counting toward 5GB mark) for same $35 I am currently paying.

The S7 International Version being sold on Amazon, there is serious question to me if it is even legitimate or a bootleg phone, it isn't samsung branded.

Anyone use any of these VR Headsets?

Didn't think I'd be too interested in VR but there was an app to see 360 degree videos by just moving the phone around and it was really cool.
A friend of mine has Google Cardboard and showed me a demo. I can't imagine using it for hours or playing games for a long period of time, but it was pretty neat. Much better and more immersive than I expected. I do see the value in being able to experience real places you'll never otherwise get to visit, or for someone in your situation doing things like riding a roller coaster again. If I end up buying a Google Pixel I'll probably spring for the Daydream View headset to go with it.

I got one of those VR headsets with my phone. The phone gets stupid hot and it destroys the battery. On top of that, it was shipped with the wrong strap so it makes it difficult to use. I sent it back for another one with the right strap (their proceedure) weeks ago and haven't received another This is after being on the phone with them several times. Samsung customer service is horrible. Complete opposite of Apple.

I got one with my phone, too. Similar to John, it makes the phone get super hot and kills the battery. In fact, the Oculus app host has a thermal shutdown in it, so they knew it would happen. It pops up right in the middle of your rollercoaster ride and tells you that the phone is too hot to use the VR headset, try again later. Kind of annoying.

It is pretty neat, though. I've enjoyed all of the apps I've used on it. Not a huge amount available, but it's growing. Don't think I could sit through an entire movie with it on my head, or that it could go through one without overheating. But then again, I've done 15+hr motorcycle rides with a helmet on, so maybe I could. I just haven't tried. A few of the apps I've used require 360 degree movement, which might be a problem, but most don't.

I played with it a lot when I got it, haven't used it at all in a long time. Not even certain where it is right now, actually. It's one of those kind of toys at this point. It could become more relevant as support grows, but right now it's just something to play with.

You just have to decide if it seems interesting enough for the cost - hope that helps.

If I was in a wheelchair and chose to never leave the house I'd get one for sure. Once you've made the decision to be a shut-in, may as well turn to the virtual world. I bet VR porn will be a big thing on the future.

I agree with that.
