And you think he is great because Alex Jones tells you to. See I can assume things about people too!
I know he's great because he has turned his brand into a synonym for "success." He has a multi-billion dollar empire, and while he may be low on low end of the Forbes 400, he has arguably the most name recognition.
I like him as a President (and before that as a candidate) because he has a history of knowing how to get things done, especially when government has failed, as he did locally here in NYC in the 80's.
He also did it without being a particularly evil guy. He was in Home Alone 2 for christ's sake. Yeah he got sued for not showing his apartments to blacks in the 70's (it was settled with no admission of wrong doing) but you don't know what life was like in NYC in the 70's and 80s. NO ONE wanted to live with black people, especially black people with money. Yeah it's racist, but it was the truth. Other than Harlem, when one black family would move in a building or a neighborhood it sparked "white flight" and literally within a few years the entire neighborhood would become a black neighborhood- then the well to do (working class, happy to call a friend) black people would realize they were in a shitty area and move to a white area, and the cycle repeated.
Real Estate Agents had this planned. It was a big thing, they wouldn't show homes to certain people based on race because they "knew" who belonged in what areas.
The city was very much racially segregated. Trump nor anyone could magically fix this themselves and frankly had he enthusiastically sold to african americans he'd been out of business.
You can't judge him by 2017 standards for what he did in 1970, you will never truly know that world, less so then you or I will know European Feudalism.
He clearly has no deep vein of racial hatred (like some) it was just business. He's happy to work with, talk with, and share the stage with people of all creeds and colors when it is beneficial to do so.
He knows the system- if he's paying little tax it's because that's the system politicians put in place- not him. But he is open to changing the system- until then he'd be stupid not to use it.
This man who went from a less than 1% chance of winning the Republican nomination to actually winning the Presidential Election is remarkable. How did a New York City moderate (former Democrat at times) win the Republican primary? Prior to 2015 we were told that was impossible. It would never happen. But it did.
Then he was sure to lose to Hillary Clinton, but again, against all odds, he wins again.
His presidency was harder fought and more surprising than Barack Obama who rode into office on a cloud of media appreciation and white guilt. Trump had the media in the primaries but not the general. And to be fair, Obama is a better speaker than Trump. Bill Clinton is a better speaker than both of them. Turned out we couldn't trust Obama but he sounds good saying whatever it is he's saying. You wanted to trust him when he said you could keep your doctors. He was "Presidential." Trump is not.
However one need not be Presidential to be an effective President.
