Salvation on CBS

Up to episode 5, anyone been watching?

In episode 4 I believe they talk about scifi book about humans who are in deep space and the "unessentials" (non-geeks) decide to make contacts with aliens despite the objections of the scientists and serious types- I was wondering if that was a real book or just something they made up? I forgot the title and author they mentioned.

Hmmm. Another that I'll catch when it hits Netflix.

EDIT - Sweet, it is on Amazon Prime already. Only up to Episode 3 though.

It is a bit nonsensical, don't want to give spoilers but at one part they claim Iran has a space probe near Jupiter. Just have to let it go.

I watch it. But for entertainment, I know it is not a documentary. Unlike Star Trek.
