^ I'm with Chuck. You can't even buy a decent zoom lens for what that Extended zoom Canon will set you back, and you get SLR-light.

The Canon S5 is a great camera. Just bought one for my mom, (downsizing from a Nikon SLR.) I don't think she ever removed the lens, not once. The S5 has more functions than she will ever use, great IS lens, and great IQ.

I was shocked at how small it was when I saw in person.
