Last Night's Host- Kind of sounded like Claire from LOST, and dressed like a slut, so I assume it really was Claire but a bit taller.

Musical Guest - The Weekend? Some kind Who's on First situation?

Opening Sketch - A liberal reinterpretation of the Hofstra Presidential Debate.

The Family Feud one was especially funny.

Weekend Update - They were pretty fair on the Presidential situation, surprisingly.

Usually the weakest sketches are after Weekend Update, but for this episode at least they weren't too bad.

The ending scene tall Claire even out slutted her monologue attire.

They did mention the Leslie Jones hack in their last skit a Mr. Robot parody but couldn't find video of it, it was overall one of the weaker sketches this week anyway.

Overall it was one of the better regular episodes I can think of, certainly would be in the top 5 of the last couple years. If you get a chance to watch in full, you should.

Tonight's Host: Some man-boy whose last name is a girl's first name. :gay:
Musical Guest: ? who cares.

The opening sketch started off as the VP debate and went right into a "Breaking News" segment of Trump's "Grab her by the pussy" comments. I suspect it really would have been entirely the VP debate if not for the Trump comments.

Opening Monologue - Host guy starts rapping, apparently he's an actor in Hamilton, but yes, he's white or at least white-hispanic.

This was seriously the worst episode I have seen since I've watched the show. There was only 1 sketch even remotely worth worth watching and it was one of the shortest ones and toward the end. One sketch wasn't even in English. This episode is not worth my time to review beyond that.

The one decent skit-

You know it's a rough show when the skit opens up and you're thinking "Thank God, Leslie Jones is in this one." (There was a classroom one where she was introducing a substitute teacher, unfortunately she had only a small part, it was the host that was the teacher, and he ruined everything he was in.

Host: Some blonde woman, surprisingly similar to the first episode but more musically talented.
Music Guest: Bruno Mars (at least a name I recognize, but not a face.)

The opening skit was again back at the 2nd debate, just like last week, though they kept with it this time. Better than last week, of course heavily more pro-Hillary but to be expected. Unfortunately it was the best skit of the night.

Opening Monologue - Some singing and giving puppies away to the audience- I enjoyed it even if it was fake.

First Skit - Escorts - Leslie Jones as an escort? A bit strange. It had a couple of laughs but this skit fell flat. Leslie pretending to be Stewie from Family Guy was the best part/

Second skit - I'm not sure wtf it was, Trump's wife and daughters in black & white music video? FF'ed through it after a minute or two. First time I had to FFed so early in a show.

Third Skit - Film Festival - Just OK, a lot better than whatever the music video proceeding it was.

Chonk - Women's clothing store. Ordinarily this would be average at best but for this episode probably the 2nd best skit after the opening one.

Weekend Update - Totally anti-Trump but funny to have the "Lady from a Russian Village" on, as recurring characters go she is one of my favorites.

Burger King - Trying hard to be funny but another lamo skit. How bad did the skits that got cut have to be for this one to make it.

The Skink - Everything I said about the Burger King skit goes double for this but it was half as long so it's a draw.

Honda bots - They're trying to be funny but not connecting. Predictable end.

Melania Moments - Why?

English Cake Contest - Meh.

Hamsters Skit - Dumb.

I really worried for this season, two dismal failures of episodes in a row. Such a shame after a promising start. Like trying to stay positive for a football team that's 1 for 3 with back to back losses to low quality teams.

Next week is a "must win" and they have Tom Hanks hosting and Lady Gaga as the musical guest, while I still FFed the music that type of star power should get them a decent audience.

Host: Tom Hanks
Musical Guest: Lady Gaga

The opening skit - The 3rd debate. Tom Hanks is the first one camera. The first debate I thought they parodied well but this one isn't anything like what happened in the 3rd debate. It's all rigged.

Opening Monologue: Tom hank's 9th time. He takes a role as "America's Dad" to sit down and have a chat with "us." It was OK. I wish I wasn't expecting more from him.

First skit - Black Jeopardy! - Tom Hanks take on the role of a red neck vs SNL's two black women. This recurring skit the white person inevitably gets everything wrong but this time the paranoid conspiracy believing red neck "Doug" is a strong player getting a few questions right. All in all it was a great skit the best in a long time on SNL. Watch it!

Second skit - Halloween Block Party Planning - This is mostly a musical sketch with Hanks, Cecily, and a new young female cast member singing to a halloween song in the tune of Journey's Don't Stop Believing.

Third Skit - CBS comedy about a family of depressed therapists and some other non-funny situations. This one kind of lost of me.

Fourth Skit - 100 Floors of Frights - Elevator in haunted building. Easier to just show than explain-

Weekend Update - About what you'd expect. Leslie Jones on Cyber Security claiming she doesn't care her nudes were hacked. OK Leslie... We believe you. Chicago Cubs going to the World Series... Oh wait, that's real. Ended with Cecily Strong as "the woman you wish you hadn't started a conversation with at the party." (I wouldn't know.)

Next skit- Tom Hanks as Sully Sullenberger as if he was a pilot back flying commercial jets and Alec Baldwin thinking he is the captain of the plane. Sully Sullenberger feels because he is Sully he should be in command, but the tower tells him since its his first time back he needs to be 2nd in command. An uneasy tension as they both try to be captain. Started slow but got funny.

A Girl's Halloween - A story of how 3 women get ready to go out for Halloween as friends but then it fast forwards to 4AM to see them angry at each other and drunk. Not bad, and pretty accurate.

Last Skit - America's Funniest Pets - Tom Hanks as Ron Howard hosting an animal bloopers show. Then he introduces guest hosts from the French version of the show which is a recurring role of Cecily and another actress playing sexy but morbid French hosts. All the animal videos they voice over are depressing. Wish this was was available to show.

All in all this was the best episode of the season so far and a welcome change to the last two which were particularly awful. I hope they can keep up the good work. Maybe once the election is over.

The Simpsons episode with Lady Gaga was easily the worst Simpsons ever. She wasn't missed here,

Host: Some guy with a funny name (oh he's British)
Music Guest: Looks like a Wraith from Stargate Atlantis

Opening Skit: Donald & Hillary interview- falls flat. All pro-Hillary propaganda followed by them "making peace" and them running hand-in-hand around NYC while Trump hugs random minorities and Hillary hugs random white guys in pro-Trump shirts. It ends with a message to vote on Tuesday before the usual "Live from New York..."

Opening Monologue: British guy tries "bragging." Apparently he stars in an upcoming movie called "Dr. Strange." It was a long dumb song.

1st skit - 1984 commercial parody about sitting on toilets. "Kool toilet from Kohler." A reversed toilet so people can look cool sitting on a toilet? The toilet is where this skit belongs.

2nd skit - Game Show - Why is Benedict Cumberbatch hot? One of the male cast members asks two of the women and the host himself why he is hot. Ends with male cast member falling for Benedict himself.

3rd skit - Office Hours - Professor being gay on his student? Is this still a comedy show?

4th skit - Surprise Bachelorette Party - The surprise kills the grandmother getting remarried at 88. Two male strippers then dance on her not realizing she's dead in the chair. At some point I think 3 real Chicago Cubs start dancing around her too. The skit ends they never realize she is dead.

Weekend Update - About what you'd expect. Church Lady made an appearance- was funny enough. Also more real Chicago Cubs do a musical number with Bill Murray.

Atlantic City Steak House - Best skit of the night. Too bad it wasn't available on YouTube.

A Bomb - A evil madman gives riddles to (I guess) cops or he'll blow things up (like the 3rd Die Hard movie) and gets angry as the cops solve all the riddles.

Hospital Donation Solicitation - Soliciting donation from a mannequin with an eagle's head. WTF is wrong with this show?

Sorry about lack of video skits, none were worth posting this week.

Next week though - Dave Chappelle hosts! (If he doesn't run away like he didn from his show.) I hope not. Hope it's still the same guy. Will need a good laugh after the election.

Host: Dave Chappelle
Music Guest: A Tribe Called Quest

Opening Skit: Hillary playing the piano - A line that said "I told the truth" so you know it was a valid comparison to the actual election. She ends with "I'm not giving up, and neither should you" before the "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

Opening Monologue: He didn't know Trump would win but he did suspect it. / Hasn't seen white people so angry since OJ. / White people protesting cause a million dollars in damage, black people say "amateurs." He had some good lines but came up with "Obama did a good job! Everyone can agree with that!" He did end on a very positive message about giving Trump a chance, and hoped Trump gives [black people] a chance too.

First Skit: Election Night - A great skit about mostly white people and Dave Chappelle having an election night party. The white people so convinced Hillary was going to win but Chappelle clearly wasn't convinced. They kept going moving forward an hour or two at a time to show how the white people got more shocked as the night went on. At some point Chris Rock joined the party. At the end one of the white people said something like "this is the greatest injustice America ever committed" and Chris and Dave just looked at each other and laughed.

Second skit: Preceeded by Dave Chappelle explaining why he is doing a character from Chappelle Show which he wasn't originally going to do, but after seeing Glenn's death in The Walking Dead he had to.

The skit turned out to be a parody of the death scene (I assume I didn't actually watch this year's Walking Dead but it looked just like when they were captured last year) the skit actually had all the famous characters from the Chappelle show. The crack head, the player hater's ball. the "white" news anchor, my favorite, Clayton Bigsby, and I think even charlie Murphy made a quick cameo. A great tribute to the old show but did end on a bit of a weird/flat note hen the decapitated head gives a unifying political message.

Musical guest came after just the second skit, a bit early.

Weekend Update: Michael Kay correctly pointed out at no time this entire election did anyone say "I like them both." Kay also messed up a joke about Latinos, so I guess he was under more stress then he was letting on. A bit sad they were still attacking even Rudy Giuliani who is a New Yorker who has been on the show. First guest was Ruth Bader Ginsberg. (Not the real one.) They didn't bring up her threat to leave the USA if Obama was elected (wonder why?) Weekend update seemed to end early. Feels like something weird is going on they need time for.

Jheri's Place - Hair in the food - WAIT! Skit is really Inside SNL- the skit started off as what seemed like a lame skit about a restaurant, hair in the food, and a health inspector. You thought Leslie Jones actually forgot a line, and it was in general just a terrible sketch but this time it was actually meant to be that way. Instead they went right to "Inside SNL" where they interviewed everyone in the sketch like they would sports players following lose a game. It was interesting, wish it was online but it's not.

Kids Talk Politics - A very short skit of little kids talking about the presidential election. A little black girl says "Daddy said Donald Trump is going to grab our cat, pussy..." Not much here.

Last Call - Last two people in the bar - A recurring skit that was mediocre at best.

Sports - Living with Mom - A few guys on a couch watching sports, turns out one guy (Dave Chappelle) lives with his mom, it's his house they're at. He asks Mom to bring some food out, guys give him some flack for living with his bother. Then the mother (Leslie Jones) comes out with a big blanket and Dave "gets something to drink" by nursing under the blanket. At this part all the other guys are confused/disgusted but one who seems OK with it. It wasn't the greatest skit.

I had great hopes for this episode and (other than the opening skit) started out great. Glad to see Dave Chappelle back, glad to see the honesty the black comedians of the 90's like he and Chris Rock bring- yes racism is a big issue but it goes both ways. After Weekend Update though, like many SNL episodes, the skits clearly weren't as great as the couple before but it was far from their worst episode and certainly one of, if not the best of the season so far.

You need to stop calling it an opening skit.

The correct term is "cold open"

I just saw the monologue, did they nuke all of the N words on the broadcast??

I didn't get home until late.

I thought the cold open was great, bringing 2 seemingly unrelated events together. Freaking brilliant.
