Wouldn't that puke right out the shaft because it would tear up the bearing?Too much tension on Serp belt.
Typically yes. This time it has about 1/3 green and 2/3 yellow "universal".What coolant are you running? Old school green?
Closer in properties to the stuff GM used which caused so many problems than to traditional green.Bad in what respect?
I would still try to not tighten it as much as you have been. Couldn't hurt to try that.No other belt driven issues. One power steering pump, one idler pulley, and two alternators I'm that timeframe. Alternators had electronic issues.
I went for the longest time on my XJ not realizing it had a manual adjuster rather than spring loaded.I would still try to not tighten it as much as you have been. Couldn't hurt to try that.
Yeah, mines pretty loose, AC squeals on very hot days but I am convinced you don't want them too tight.I went for the longest time on my XJ not realizing it had a manual adjuster rather than spring loaded.
You want them just right. Mine no longer squeals, but I just guessed about how tight it should be.Yeah, mines pretty loose, AC squeals on very hot days but I am convinced you don't want them too tight.
