You may see a new icon on the advanced editor -
This is for the new [mp4] BBCode.
[mp4] works just like [img] except it is for .mp4 video files.
A test-
[mp4]https://www.juot.net/vids/sameparty.mp4[/mp4] becomes...
You will note the video does NOT autoplay and the browser should only download a little metadata about the video unless you actually hit play when the browser will generally download the rest of the video.
There is also a new BBCode [mp4auto].
While it does not have a dedicated button in the editor [mp4auto] can be manually typed in. As the name suggests [mp4auto] starts the video on autoplay however the video is muted. [mp4auto] is only for short videos where it makes sense it should repeat like an animated gif. Please don't use it for large (file size) videos.
I know Imgur will allow you to direct link to mp4 videos (though they have no audio) and you can get the URL by right clicking on a video that is playing on Imgur.com and use the "Copy Video URL" or similar option in your browser. If your browser doesn't have this option try Chrome or Firefox. However you find the mp4 videos to link to is up to you, I strongly recommend you only link to videos on video and image hosting sites however and please don't link to any videos on JUOT.net itself.
