That looks like it would be horrible. I paid a service $125 to come out to clean mine out. That tool is basically a pair of tongs on a stick. I can't imagine how long it would take you to clean gutters out with that thing.

Ladder.
Trowel.
Heavy/thick rubber gloves.

Optional: Someone else to do it.

I saw an ad somewhere for a nozzle on the end of a stick that attached to your garden hose. It was U shaped so that it would shoot into the gutter. Stand below, aim into gutter, squirt heavy stream of water into gutter to clean out. Should work great. Don't know where to get it, sorry.

I dont even use the trowel or gloves, just the ladder. I cleaned our back gutters last night while getting tennis balls out
I've cleaned a few that had some sort of primordial ooze down under the layers of decaying leaves. After that I added the gloves! :D

They had a couple on Amazon, reviews were mixed... I'm not confident the stream of water is powerful enough to get stuff that has been up there a long time. Fresh leaves, sure.

I had one. The concept was sound, and it worked great, but it was made backwards. By that I mean the nozzle was directed in such a way that it wanted to unscrew the whole thing from the hose as it was being used. It was so ****ing annoying I went back to the ladder.

Hire a roofer or gutter installer to clean out the gutters (which they will do with a ladder and their hands) and install basic aluminum leaf guards. It is a cheap improvement and essentially eliminates future gutter maintenance.
