Ive blown up propane tanks without fire, flame etc and not much damage occured (bbq tanks and smaller torch ones)

True - I'll back you up on that. I've shot a skinny torch tank and a fat camp stove tank (two each) -- none blew up. They just go "FOOMP," which is annoying as hell when you're trying to blow shit up.
