What is your favorite?

If I had to pick just one (which would be a travesty), I'd have to go with something thick, smoky, and a little sweet with just a hint of bourbon.

I have tried my hand several times and perfecting a recipe, but never have quite nailed it. Runner up for me is on the opposite side of the spectrum. Carolina vinegar based.

Vinegar/peppery. Memphis representing!

Close 2nd would be some of that Bama white though.

I like the variety of BBQ sauces available, depends on my mood at the time...

Here is the recipe I used for the Carolina Mustard Sauce I made this weekend.

I found it on the internet. It came out pretty good. Now that I have a baseline recipe I'll tweak a little bit to make it better. It went well on the pulled pork.
  • 3/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

I have an awesome recipe that makes a great sauce with a little sweetness and a bit of heat as an after effect. I'll dig out the recipe and share it. Brandon - it cane be done with bourbon, whiskey or tequila (I've done it all 3 ways).
