Do you think the black community rioting cares about scientific proof or do they care about what they know because they see it / live it?
I think it's a mob mentality to destroy your neighbor's shit and attempt to assault complete strangers who have not caused you harm who are merely there to keep you from destroying the entire town. Unfortunately this prehistoric savage mentality still exists in some communities.
Do you also believe that racism is not an issue in police forces in 2014?
Here's a very simple break down: I started in 1994, in New Jersey, and was by far the most aggressive guy in my small, 10 man department with locking up bad guys on car and pedestrian stops. In 1998, the NJSP shot up that van which started the whole RACIAL PROFILING OMFG drama, so every single cop who stood out was now a racist by default.
I can honestly say me, and the guys I ran with (and still do) didn't stop blacks/greens/whatevers because they were blacks/greens/whatevers.
Why?
Because it doesn't work. If I were stopped 100 blacks, I'd arrest 5. If I arrested 100 whites, 5 arrests.
Now, if I sat there and stopped a shitbox 15 year old Honda driven by a dirty looking dude in his 30s who's wearing a hoodie in August and has a cracked windshield, I'm gonna stop him. He's probably got heroin on him.
I'm behind a broke dick beat up work van with a brake light out registered to a woman driven by a guy, he's gonna get stopped. His license is probably suspended and he's probably got warrants.
There's subtleties tied to each thing I mentioned, i.e. behavior which deviates from 90% of the motorists out there. Am I going to go up there and start night sticking them? No. Are they getting cheesey ass tickets for those violations if it turns out they're just poor? No.
Stopping people based on race doesn't work. I'm not interested in oppressing minorities. I'm interesting in hunting bad guys. And picking people based on BEHAVIOR was very effective; if I was looking and it was a good night, I was one, maybe two stops before someone was in my car. Guns, drugs, thieves, fugitives...good stuff. Not dime bag and a bowl stuff.
So to answer your question, today, in 2014, in MY environment, the only racism that is an issue in my department is the bullshit complaints by people that are arrested and instead of taking responsibility that they did something wrong, accuse a complete stranger of discrimination.
If one of our guys started saying and doing things to indicate he was a racist, he'd be ostracized nearly immediately, and probably shitcanned sooner than later.
